The entire Bruins fanbase breathed a collective sigh of relief when David Pastrnak FINALLY decided to stay in Boston but it was just as big of a moment for himself.

It was quickly noticed that Pasta had his phone out during the signing, as fans thought he was documenting the process for social media. However, the truth was revealed on the latest episode of Behind the B and the real reason is so much more wholesome.

It All Comes Back to Family.

Pastrnak lost his of dad to cancer in 2013, when he was just 16 years old and since, his mother Marcela, has been his biggest supporter.

He just had make sure she was there for the special moment, as you can hear Pasta say:

''Mom. She wants me to. I was there [Czechia] last time we signed. She wants to be there together.''

Check it out:

Pastrnak officially signed an eight-year, $90 million extension on March 2nd, that will pay him $11.25 million annually.

That should be well-worth it for the 26-year-old who's just hitting his prime and enjoying a career-high pace this season. Pastrnak currently sits second in the NHL in goals (46) and fifth in points (90).
