The Boston Bruins have arguably the best defensive core in the NHL this season, led by three, top-two defensemen in Charlie McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm and Dmitry Orlov.

Despite having a plethora of top-end defenders, only one of those three is in the thick of the Norris Trophy race.

The Athletic‘s Dom Luszczyszyn recently released who should win the award for best defenseman in the league, with at least five players that could win it.

Below is Lindholm's case for winning according to Luszczyszyn:

''Lindholm's season started off with a bang as he held the fort while Charlie McAvoy was sidelined. That allowed him to put up some point totals he otherwise might not have been able to — enough to warrant consideration for the Norris. He's on pace for 54 points, not far off the amount Drew Doughty had in 2015-16 when he won the Norris over Karlsson.''

The 29-year-old has registered 8 goals and 34 assists through 64 games this season.
