The Bruins have benefited from an improvement in depth scoring and it shows but one forward in particular has been a pleasant surprise.

With Taylor Hall spending a majority of the season on the third line and the additions of Tyler Bertuzzi and Garnet Hathaway, it's still one other guy that's stood out.

Break Out Season For Former First Round Pick

Several Bruins are enjoying career high seasons but the one that fans should feel best about is Trent Frederic. After he was selected 29th overall by Boston in 2019, Frederic had struggled to make an impact at the NHL level.

He's already proven that he can play physical and back it up with his fists, if needed. now, Frederic is showing his offensive side, as he has a career-high 16 goals and 12 assists in 66 games this season. His previous best was 8 goals and 10 assists in 60 games last year.

Not only that, but according to Hockey Analytics Experts Andy & Rono, Frederic has all around been one of the best bottom-six forwards in the entire league.

''Frederic is playing his best season of his career and is one of the best bottom-six forwards this season. Great for Boston.''

Although he's not exactly what you want from a first round selection, Frederic has proven his worth on the Bruins and could be a crucial player down the stretch.
