26-year-old Boston Bruins goaltender being claimed off waivers takes an unexpected turn
After major speculation, Boston Bruins goaltender Michael DiPietro's waiver fate was just confirmed.
Once the Boston Bruins announced that Michael DiPietro was going on waivers, there was a lot of speculation that he
was going to get claimed.
PuckPedia just revealed that there were some players claimed, but none of them were Boston Bruins players.
Michael DiPietro clears waivers
PuckPedia just confirmed that Michael DiPietro, along with the four other players the Boston Bruins ended up placing on waivers has cleared waivers.
Waiver Claims:
Primeau claimed by TOR from CAR
Blais claimed by TOR from MTL
Colten Ellis claimed by BUFF from Stl
Curtis Douglas claimed by TB from UTAH
Everyone else on waivers yesterday cleared
Leading up to the 2 p.m. deadline, there was a lot of belief that one of the Toronto Maple Leafs, or Calgary Flames were going to put a claim in on DiPietro.
That was before Bussi was claimed by the Canes and I also never said that. I had a source tell me «keep an eye on the Hurricanes» but never that they were «monitoring closely»
To many's surprise, this did not happen, as the Maple Leafs ended up claiming a different goaltender on waivers.
Many believed that DiPietro was long gone once he was placed on the waiver wire, but the Bruins somehow managed to get away with one.
