Boston Bruins forward Morgan Geekie has taken to social media to express his frustration with the IIHF after his brother, Conor Geekie, was ejected just 11 seconds into a game between Canada and Germany.

The incident occurred when Conor Geekie laid a hit that led to his ejection, prompting Morgan Geekie to voice his displeasure with the IIHF and the referees on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The decision to eject Conor Geekie has sparked controversy, with Morgan Geekie highlighting the absurdity of penalizing a player for hitting too hard.

While acknowledging a bit of elevation in the hit, Morgan Geekie deems the ejection as unjust, bringing an abrupt end to the 19-year-old's group stage performance, despite scoring three points in the initial three games and limited play in the fourth.

Morgan Geekie, currently in his fifth NHL season and first with the Bruins, has been a solid contributor in his bottom-six role, tallying six goals and 14 points in 28 games. The 25-year-old forward, previously with the Kraken and the Hurricanes, was a third-round pick for Carolina.

Conor Geekie, the younger brother, is yet to make his NHL debut but shows promise. Currently playing for the Wenatchee Wild in the WHL, he is on pace for over 100 points this season.

Standing at 6'4" and weighing 195 lbs, Conor Geekie possesses an NHL-ready frame, hinting at a promising future in the league. The incident and subsequent social media commentary by Morgan Geekie add an intriguing layer to the ongoing narrative surrounding the IIHF decision and the impact on the Geekie brothers' hockey careers.
