First Player From Team Canada Officially Turns Himself Into Police
In the wake of last week's news on several unnamed players expected to surrender to London, Ontario police regarding a investigation linked to the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championship team, former NHL player Alex Formenton has turned himself in.
His legal team maintains his innocence, stating,"Alex will vigorously defend his innocence."
Drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the second round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Formenton played 109 NHL games before continuing his career in the Swiss League.
Currently on an indefinite leave of absence, the 24-year-old forward faces charges related to the 2018 accusation. Stay tuned for further developments.
