More so than last summer, the Boston Bruins have massive questions facing a couple franchise cornerstones this off-season.

A New Era in Boston?

Among the many scenarios that could unfold for the Bruins this summer, Conor Ryan of Boston.com suggests that Don Sweeney's main focus is on more of an ‘'effective retool'' than a ‘'lengthy rebuild''.
However, for that to happen, one thing will need to happen. According to Ryan:
'' for that to happen, the Bruins likely need at least one (if not both) of Bergeron or Krejci back in the fold.''

‘'Of course, the feasibility of that scenario playing out once again seems slim.‘'

As slim as the chances of the veteran duo returning for the 2022-23 season, it's even less likely now. But the way Boston's record-breaking season ended, Bergeron and Krejci more than likely will have a sour taste in their mouths.
If neither returns, the Bruins will be left with Pavel Zacha and Charlie Coyle as the team's top two centres.
According to Bruins Cap Space on Twitter, Sweeney will have just North of $4 million in cap space this summer. See below:
