Jim Montgomery States The Bruins Will Fill This Void Before The Start Of the Season
Montgomery has let it be known that the team is looking to fill the gap left by former assistant coach John Gruden before the new season kicks off, but in a different capacity.
Gruden's departure after a single season with the Bruins is due to his new role as the head coach for AHL's Toronto Marlies in the upcoming season.
The tasks that Gruden used to handle, specifically overseeing the defense and penalty kill, will now be split between the two remaining assistant coaches of the Bruins, Chris Kelly and Joe Sacco.
Montgomery clarified that the replacement for Gruden will focus more on player development and won't be actively involved on the bench during games.
