There are several ways the Bruins' offseason could go, but what will happen if Patrice Bergeron and/or David Krejci retire? One recent report suggests a major shakeup could occur within the organization.
Completely Strip the Core?
Marc-Olivier Cook of DansLesCoulisses shared that if one or both of the duo does decide to hang up the skates, Don Sweeney should consider trading Brad Marchand.
''This has me wondering if the Bruins might choose to explore the market for Brad Marchand as the club may soon enter a rebuild.''
''At 34, the forward still has good value, and if he's made available to the other 31 NHL teams, teams will call. It would be a great opportunity to add picks and prospects, especially after Don Sweeney paid top dollar to acquire some players at the latest trade deadline.''
Even if Bergeron and Krejci retire, I don't see the Bruins trading away a franchise cornerstone like Marchand. Despite older core's window closing even more so, Boston still has the likes of David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, Pavel Zacha, Taylor Hall, and more leading the way.
