Report: Bruins Could Make a Trade With The Winnipeg Jets

The Boston Bruins will see a lot changes this off-season due to their struggling cap issues.

If one or two players are moved it could result in a falling domino effect that may not be good for the Boston Bruins.

GM Don Sweeney will have a busy offseason, and will have to see where his talent lies heading into the 2023-24 season; especially with unrestricted free agents like Tyler Bertuzzi, Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci, Garnet Hathaway, and Connor Clifton. Sweeney has less than $5 million to work with this offseason, and he will not be able to bring everyone back.

Players that could be on the trade block

Unfortunately this means that Gryzelyck, Reilly, and Ullmark trades could be in the works. Despite Tyler Bertuzzi wanting to test free agency the Bruins are still trying to make an effort into resigning him long-term. $6.5-$7.5 million on an eight-year deal could be the ballpark of his next contract. This is if the Bruins can even meet Bertuzzi's needs and if he'd like to stay long-term.

Per insidetherink.com if the Bruins fail to bring Tyler Bertuzzi back and they move Ullmark, Reilly, and Gryzelyck, it may result in the Bruins making a call up North of the border to the Winnipeg Jets. Boston will certainly be intrigued in Connor Hellebuyck if they lose Ullmark, and in Mark Scheifele to replace Bertuzzi. Both of whom carry playoff experience. However, if neither of them would sign long term to the Bruins, Sweeney would not be interested.

The Boston Bruins may be losing a Vezina Trophy candidate for another, moving Linus Ullmark in order to acquire Connor Hellebuyck this summer.
