With the NHL contracts doled out this summer and the hopefuls in training camp on tryouts, there's not much room for emerging talent within the Boston Bruins. However, one young player stands out with a clear chance to make the NHL roster straight out of training camp: 22-year-old defenseman Mason Lohrei.

Lohrei showcased his readiness for the NHL during last summer's development camp and the recent Prospect Showcase in Buffalo. While Matthew Poitras has shown promise as a top-6 center in the making, the 19-year-old faces an uphill battle to maintain his performance level as camp progresses.

Lohrei made a strong impression in his NHL preseason debut in Buffalo earlier this week. He led the team in ice time, playing approximately 25 minutes and often facing off against Buffalo's top players. It's a sign that Lohrei could be a key player to watch as the Bruins finalize their roster for the upcoming season.

This is going to be a tough decision for Montgomery and the Bruins to make as Lohrei could be a key addition to the Bruins lineup this year.
