A new report has announced what Boston Bruins fans can expect to see from the organization this offseason, and reveals that the team is expected to be resigning one of their top RFA defensemen.

With the 2025 NHL regular season finally completed, fans and reporters have begun speculating what to expect from the Bruins organization this offseason as there will soon be a lot of activity within the NHL Draft next month and Free Agency beginning within a little under two months.
Bruins fans can only hope that general manager Don Sweeney and the front office will make big moves to help turn things around and make the franchise a contending team again, and a new report seems as though the organization may just be doing that.
A specific report by Hannah Garfield with The Hockey Writers revealed that the Boston Bruins are expected to be resigning one of their top RFA defenseman:
Mason Lohrei - RFA - Re-signing
«The Bruins would be crazy to somehow fumble Mason Lohrei. He's coming off his rookie contract, so unless they don't extend him a qualifying offer or he gets an offer sheet from another team, he will be extended.

The big question, though, is what will that contract look like, especially with a number of young defenseman getting signed to major long-term deals right off of their ELC.»

Garfield continued:
«Given where he is skill-wise and where the Bruins are as a franchise, a two or three-year bridge deal with an AAV in the $5.25 to $5.75 million range seems like the best option.

Given his points contribution and the anticipated ceiling the team has for him, don't be surprised if the AAV is on the higher end. Since Nikita Zadorov's contract has a $5 million AAV, I'd expect Lohrei's contract to come in above that.»

Hannah Garfield with The Hockey Writers also revealed a Boston Bruins 2025 Free Agency predictions:
«Here are some of the Bruins' current group of UFAs and RFAs, focusing primarily on guys who appeared in NHL games this past season, and my best guess on who I think will be returning next season and what their next contract may look like.»

Morgan Geekie - RFA - Re-Signing
Cole Koepke - UFA - Signing Elsewhere
John Beecher - RFA - Re-Signing
Henri Jokiharju - UFA - Uncertain/Could Go Either Way
Parker Wotherspoon - UFA - Signing Elsewhere
Jakub Lauko - RFA - Re-Signing
Marat Khusnutdinov - RFA - Re-Signing
Although there are remaining free agents and that it is uncertain of what the outcome will be from his year's Free Agency, we can expect a very busy offseason and can only hope Sweeney makes the write decisions.
