Entering their game last night against the New York Islanders, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm ended up going back with Jeremy Swayman for the third straight game.
This was a surprising decision, but it ended up being the right one by Sturm considering the Bruins got heavily outplayed by the Islanders.
Swayman ended up playing lights out for the Bruins, stopping 44 out of 45 shots, finishing the game with a 1.00 goals against average and a .978 save percentage.
Following the game, head coach Marco Sturm had this to say regarding going back to Swayman for the third straight game:
Sturm on sticking with Swayman:
"We had that feeling today that we can't get him out of the net because he's playing that well and he showed it again today. How calm he was - that just gives us ... a little bit of extra juice. We don't have to worry about what's behind us."
