A major development has surfaced in the Boston Bruins acquiring a Buffalo Sabres defenseman, and it's shocking.
The Boston Bruins organization has been showing immense interest in the Buffalo Sabres' defenseman, Bowen Byram, as of late, and new insight has revealed his fate within the organization.
For some time now, the Boston Bruins have been linked to acquiring the Sabres' restricted free agent (RFA), Bowen Byram.
This was mostly due to the fact this Original Six franchise is undergoing a retool and one huge area the organization is undoubtedly lacking in, is on the left side of their defence.
With that being said, Byram, being a left side defenseman, could offer the organization the help they are in desperate need of.
However, a recent announcement by an NHL insider has confirmed Byram's fate within Boston.

Earlier this week, the Buffalo Sabres elected salary arbitration with their defenseman, Bowen Byram, however, late on Monday evening, this arbitration process was avoided.

This salary arbitration was voided due to the fact the Sabres and Byram had agreed on a contract extension which was confirmed by Elliotte Friedman.

Although Byram is now in a two-year contract, he will in fact go straight to unrestricted free agency in 2027/28, meaning the Boston Bruins could still get a shot at acquiring this defenseman in the future.
