In the off-season, just before training camp began the Boston Bruins announced the signing of Tyler Johnson to a professional tryout contract.
During preseason, Tyler Johnson really impressed the Boston Bruins, and the Bruins front office, but unfortunately for him just two-days before the regular season started the Boston Bruins signed Jeremy Swayman to a 8-year, $8.25 million contract extension leaving the team with no cap space to sign Tyler Johnson.
Just the other day, on Friday the Boston Bruins placed Riley Tufte on waivers, and many believed that the Bruins would be signing Johnson to a contract.
A new report just surfaced that revealed the Bruins may sign Tyler Johnson soon.
Today during the Boston Bruins practice it was revealed that Tyler Johnson was a full participate during the practice today, pointing towards a contract more than likely coming for Tyler Johnson at some point.
The Boston Bruins have struggled to start this season, getting inconsistent goaltending, and not a lot of production out of the Bruins best players. In their first 9 games the Bruins have a record of 4-4-1, and maybe adding someone like the likes of Tyler Johnson into the lineup can give the Bruins a different look, and boost they need.
