It's always a story when two original six teams make a trade, and this one wasn't different on June 28th 1990 the Boston Bruins acquired Chris Nilan from the Rangers in exchange for Greg Johnson an future considerations.
He had 277 penalty minutes and 186 in both years. After his time with the Bruins, he spent one more season with the Montreal Canadiens and played a total of 17 games with four points and then decided to hang up his skates.
Nilan returned to Massachusetts as he remained in Boston after his career was over. He had played 688 games, scored 110 goals with 115 assists for 200 and 25 points but he had an eye watering 3043 penalty minutes and had won the Stanley Cup in 1986 with the Canadiens.
