Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens to combine for a massive trade: Joonas Korpisalo is being offered

The Boston Bruins have ultimately been associated to a specific type of hockey, and that reputation has led to some of their players engaging in intimidation and fights more often than most player's within alternative organizations.

That being said, a recent proposed deal by the website, Heavy.com, has revealed a potential trade that would see the Boston Bruins acquire a player that would fit perfectly into that feisty category.

That player would be, Arber Xhekaj, from the Bruins' rivals, the Montreal Canadiens.

This proposed trade would also include in the departure of Boston's backup net-minder, Joonas Korpisalo.

The Boston Bruins would receive a 6-foot-4, 240 lbs left handed defenseman who has been known for his physicality.

During the 2024/25 NHL season, he recorded six points, 118 penalty minutes, 180 hits, and 63 blocks while averaging 14:37 of ice time per game.

However, with the Canadiens recent signings, his future is uncertain in Montreal, leaving him to be a great option for the Boston Bruins to pursue.

Meanwhile, the Boston Bruins would depart with their back-up net-minder, Joonas Korpisalo, who has already admitted to his frustration's in Boston regarding his minimal ice time.

Yet, with the Bruins currently being stacked in NHL level goaltenders, seeing Korpisalo leave in this trade would give the organization a physical defenseman, while offering the Canadiens a solid goaltender to share the net with Sam Montebeault.

This one-for-one trade would be a win-win on both sides and could undoubtedly erupt this offseason.
