Boston Bruins coach Marco Sturm made one big change and it's been the difference so far
Boston Bruins head coach Marco Sturm ended up making one big change for the team, and it's been the difference.
After starting off the season hot, going 3-0-0, the Bruins became a very easy team to play against, and because of that, they ended up going on a six-game losing streak.
Marco Sturm had seen enough and decided to make two big changes that have paid off for the Bruins.
The first big change that Sturm made was removing Mason Lohrei from the lineup.
Lohrei was playing well offensively scoring 1 goal and adding 5 assists for 6 points in 11 games, but was a liability on defense for the Bruins, prompting Sturm to remove him from the lineup.
The second change he made has been the biggest difference maker.
Sturm makes the Bruins a harder team to play against
Marco Sturm made it a point to tell the players that they need to be harder to play against and need to change their approach.
Since doing this, the Bruins have gone on a five-game winning streak, even winning games that they don't deserve to.
Marco Sturm on the Bruins adopting a "hard to play against" approach this season:
"In Ottawa, it was the only game [they didn't]. Other than that - these guys give me everything they have. They really do."
"In Ottawa, it was the only game [they didn't]. Other than that - these guys give me everything they have. They really do."
This change has really been the difference maker, as the Bruins have adapted to the "hard to play against" additude that Sturm wants out of them.
