Boston Bruins Expected To Announce Another Signing Instantly
The Boston Bruins have just signed Mark Kastelic to a three-year extension this week. Could this signal the Bruins' intentions to extend depth-forward Justin Brazeau next?
The Boston Bruins forward Justin Brazeau is in year 2 of his league minimum, $775K deal.
At the end of the season, his contract will expire and he will be an UFA. Brazeau has found himself as a diamond in the rough for the Bruins as he's been a staple on the team's RW3 position.
The depth forward has played 39 games this season for the Bruins, while he's scored 17 points( 9 G, 8 A) with 2 PIMs.
Justin Brazeau is signed to a 2 year, $1,550,000 contract with a cap hit of $775,000 per season, currently playing for the Boston Bruins. His contract was signed on February 18, 2024, and expires at the end of the 2024-25 season, when Brazeau will be 27 years old.
He originally signed his contract with the B's on February 18th, 2024.
Since then he's been a staple on the team's bottom-six and even found himself on the 2nd power-play unit again this season.
Brazeau even occupied the net-front role on the second power play unit. When it was all said and done, the 26-year-old posted 5-2-7 in 19 regular season contests before recording a goal and an assist in nine playoff games. It was quite the debut for the undrafted free agent.
Last season in 19 games with the Bruins he scored 7 points( 5 G, 2 A) and he has increased his production significantly this year.
With only 58 games played in the NHL, it's hard to get an idea of what Brazeau could make with his next contract.
But GM Don Sweeney loves his bottom-six bruisers.
