The Toronto Maple Leafs faced another tough loss in the playoffs, and now they're thinking about making big changes. TSN's Pierre LeBrun says some players might have to leave, but it's not going to be easy.

The team is feeling disappointed after getting knocked out early in the playoffs once again. For the players, it's tough to accept, but they know they have to move on. But for the team bosses, it's a different story. They're realizing that they need to shake things up.

They've got some star players like Auston Matthews and William Nylander locked in for the long term. But now, attention is turning to Mitch Marner and John Tavares. These two might be on the chopping block, but there's a problem. They have clauses in their contracts that make it hard to trade them.

Tavares, being from Toronto, might not want to leave, just like he didn't when he played for the Islanders. Marner, on the other hand, has been feeling the heat from fans and the media. He might see a fresh start somewhere else as a good thing.

The team's new boss, Keith Pelley, has made it clear that they're not happy with how things are going. They want to change things up and build a winning team. They know they can't keep spending so much money on just a few players.

Changes are likely coming for the Leafs but just a reminder that ‘blowing it up' is not easy with core guys with full no-move clauses. Players have lots of leverage with those clauses. Trades are rarely full value as a result. Something to remember in the weeks ahead.

So, while it's not certain what will happen next, one thing's for sure: things can't stay the same for the Maple Leafs.
