After multiple rumours and speculation's regarding the Boston Bruins firing their general manager, Don Sweeney, a new report has announced the outcome of whether or not Bruins fans can expect a new leader in Boston.

The Boston Bruins have had a tough run this past 2024/25 NHL season, however, the future of the organization needs to be assessed in order to excel throughout the team's re-build, and new insight on GM Don Sweeney has revealed fans should expect a new general manager in town.
Sweeney has, needless to say, made some questionable moves this season, which ultimately left the organization to fall apart when he moved some huge pieces, including the long-time forward and captain, Brad Marchand.
Despite the horror season, according to an NHL insider, Frank Servalli, there are no expected changes to the Bruins front office, as both GM Don Sweeney and President of Hockey Operattions Cam Neely expected to return for the NHL 2025/26 campaign.
Take a look:
«Sources say no changes are expected in #NHLBruins front office. Both Don Sweeney and Cam Neely have been in lockstep, hard at work on the next iteration of the club.»
Although this may be extremely frustrating to Boston fans, it seems as both Neely's and Sweeney's jobs are safe, as CEO, Charlie Jacobs, also revealed his belief in the front office and hockey operations department.
«It's clear that we have a lot of work to do, and that work is already underway. Despite how difficult it has been to say goodbye to some of our most beloved Bruins this season, these decisions were rooted in the best interests of the future of our franchise. Together with our hockey operations leaders, we are actively preparing for the NHL Draft and anticipate a top-tier selection with more draft capital in hand than we have had in recent years. We are also eager to bolster our roster through free agency and open the door for some our young prospects to take the next steps in their development.»
