Bruins coach Marco Sturm delivered important injury updates on several players as the team prepared for a crucial game after the holiday break. With health lingering over the roster, clarity arrived at the right moment.

Sturm revealed that Tanner Jeannot would be out of the lineup for Saturday's game, continuing to nurse an injury. Losing Jeannot, a physical force and reliable depth forward, impacts Boston's deployment and lineup balance.
On a more encouraging note, two other Bruins were confirmed to be making progress, though neither is ready to return just yet.
Defenseman Jonathan Aspirot and defenseman Henri Jokiharju have both been skating and are on the team's trip, a positive sign as they edge closer to availability.
«(Aspirot) will be getting a little bit closer,» Sturm said, signaling optimism without overcommitting to a timeline. «(Jokiharju) is skating again. So slowly, guys are coming back.»
The Bruins' inability to count on key pieces has been a constant theme this season, with injuries piling up and forcing younger players into larger roles. Boston entered the break stuck in a losing streak in part because of disrupted lineup continuity.

Jeannot's absence is a real hit, reducing depth scoring and grit at a time when chemistry is elusive. But seeing Aspirot and Jokiharju back on the ice, even in a limited fashion, suggests the team's health picture could improve soon.
Both players have been out with injuries for some time. Aspirot is dealing with an upper body issue, and Jokiharju is trending toward a return after missing action since late November. Having them back in camp, even without an immediate lineup spot, reinforces patience as the season wears on.
Sturm did not commit to specific return dates, emphasizing the need to let both players recover fully. In a condensed schedule where every game matters, pacing returns can be just as important as the performance itself.
Getting both of these players back will boost the Bruins blue line, and hopefully get them back on the right track.
