Ahead of a rivalry matchup that always carries extra weight, the Bruins are making several notable adjustments following morning skate. The most intriguing change comes on the blue line, where a new face is set to make his debut.

Boston recently claimed defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok off waivers from the Dallas Stars, and all signs point to him drawing into the lineup tonight. The 24-year-old will skate alongside Mason Lohrei, giving the Bruins a fresh left right pairing to evaluate immediately.
Kolyachonok arrives with limited NHL experience but intriguing upside. Boston's staff has been searching for stability and mobility on the back end, and this debut feels like a low-risk, high-reward move.
Up front, the Bruins are also welcoming back Viktor Arvidsson, who appears ready to return after missing time. His reentry forces a shuffle, with Michael Eyssimont and Jeffrey Viel expected to come out of the lineup.

Vladislav Kolyachonok debut highlights Bruins changes

Arvidsson slots onto the second line with Casey Mittelstadt and Pavel Zacha, a trio built on pace and puck pressure. Boston has lacked straight-line speed at times, and Arvidsson's return directly addresses that.
Morgan Geekie makes his return to the top line with Elias Lindholm, and David Pastrnak.
On defense, pairing Kolyachonok with Lohrei is a clear test. Both can skate, both can move the puck, and both are still developing. Against Montreal's forecheck, that pairing will be challenged immediately.
This is also about internal competition. Boston has cycled through multiple defenders this season, and every new look raises the bar for everyone else.
Tonight's game is about more than two points. It's about finding answers. If Kolyachonok settles in and Arvidsson provides a spark, the Bruins may come away with more clarity than just a result on the scoreboard.
