The Boston Bruins returned back to the Canadian Tire Centre to face off against the Ottawa Senators once again, looking for payback for their 7-2 loss last time they visited.

Unfortunately, the Senators still had the Bruins' number on home ice and ended up snapping their seven-game winning streak Thursday night.
Entering the third period, the Bruins were down 3-1 and showed some resilience, coming back to tie the game, but Tim Stutzle ended up scoring the game-winning goal with just over five minutes left.
Later on in the period, the Senators ended up scoring another goal on an empty net to secure their 5-3 win over the Bruins.
Even though the Bruins had a decent game, Geekie felt like the team could have done better and called them out for some key mistakes they made.

Geekie calls out teammates

«We kind of shot ourselves in the foot, it felt like,» Geekie said, as seen on NESN's postgame coverage on Thursday. «It's just happened a couple too many times this year to be okay with it. Super proud of the way we battled back in the third. We didn't start very well, but I think all game we got better and better. It's always tough to see those ones slip away.»

Boston didn't give up despite being down multiple goals in the third period, showing they had confidence, but they didn't have what it took to win the game.
Mark Kastelic spoke following the game as well and stated the team had total confidence they were going to get the comeback win.
«Definitely felt like we had the momentum for a second there,» Kastelic said. «We fought our way back into it and, I mean, in the (second) intermission, we had all the faith in the world that we were going to make it a game. That's what we did; we stuck with it.»

The Bruins now fall to 11-8-0 on the season, and will return back to the ice on the road once again to face off against the Montreal Canadiens.
