The Boston Bruins have surfaced as a potential landing destination for a former first-round pick, the New York Rangers' Brennan Othmann.

This Original Six franchise has kicked off the 2025/26 NHL regular season to a hot start and could seek to add additional talent to their roster.
At this time, the Bruins could look to upgrade their top-six and add some more goal scorer's to their lineup.
And an NHL analyst, Adam Gretz, has just linked the Boston Bruins to acquiring the New York Rangers' Brennan Othmann.

This 22-year old forward has been looming the rumor mill for sometime, and now, rumours are claiming fans may expect to see him land in Boston.
«It just hasn't worked out for Othmann in terms of getting a consistent role or consistent playing time in the NHL, while their development seems to have stalled,» Gretz stated in a piece where he named the Bruins as one of five potential landing spots for Othmann.

Gretz continued:
«Othmann still has talent and upside, but it just does not seem likely he is going to become the player the team wanted in their current situation. Give him a clean slate with a new staff and a new organization, and see what happens.»

The New York Rangers had selected Othmann was the organization's 16th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, yet, this forward has failed to make the NHL roster.
After being sent down to the AHL again, well-trusted NHL insider, Elliotte Friedman, reported that many teams have called New York in hopes to pursuit Othmann.
«It's early and most teams try to wait until making moves, but there is at least one name gaining traction out there,» Friedman wrote in a piece published on Thursday. «That's New York Rangers prospect Brennan Othmann. Othmann was sent down to AHL Hartford after failing to make the NHL team, and, since that occurred, there's been conversations with other clubs about his future.»

While it is uncertain what Othmann would cost, it is certain that Boston Bruins' general manager Don Sweeney should inquire in pursuit to acquire this young talent.
