Bruins Captain Brad Marchand Reveals Shocking New Career Path Following Retirement
Brad Marchand has to be one of the most entertaining players in the NHL when it comes to interviews and the guys on NHL TNT know exactly that.
The captain has made multiple appearances on the show both pre and postgame, and even won Mr. TNT last year which is given to a player or coach that brings the best personality to the show.
Brad Marchand is known to be one of the best chirpers in the league, and he is quick to respond to chirps which makes him a perfect fit to be featured on the TNT panel whenever he does decided to call it a career, and it's a thought that has crossed his mind as well.
«I haven't thought a ton about it. It's come up a couple of times more recently because of the interactions with Bizz,» Marchand told MassLive's Matt Vautour.
«I would be way more interested in doing something like that where guys are having fun. I don't have a ton of interest in sitting down and just being serious on a panel. I like having a good time and the friendly banter and they do a really good job with that.
«So that would be something I probably would be interested in some capacity down the road. Hopefully it's a long ways down the road. But the way that it's going and how much fun they seem to have, it's definitely something that I would be intrigued with.»
There is a possibility Marchand decides to become a coach as well, as not long ago he made his coaching debut in the Bruins recent Alumni game, but teammates
Charlie McAvoy, Johnny Beecher and
Jeremy Swayman believe that he should go into the media game once he calls it a career.
«He's got the personality for it. That's for sure,» McAvoy told Vautour. «I know he's got a good relationship with those guys.
He might be setting the table for his next act. He'd be hysterical. There's nobody better at the jabs and the chirps. They might be worried to give him a microphone.»
Brad Marchand is playing in his final season under contract with the Boston Bruins, and is set to become a unrestricted free agent in the off-season, but the way he is playing, he could easily play a couple more years without a problem.
