With Hampus Lindholm going down with an injury, it ended up opening a roster spot for a defenseman, and now there may be an odd man out.

Just two games into the season, the Boston Bruins once again lost Hampus Lindholm to an injury.
Lindholm ended up leaving the game midway through the first period against the Chicago Blackhawks, and would not return.
The Bruins announced on X that Lindholm suffered a lower-body injury.
UPDATE: Hampus Lindholm (lower body) will not return to tonight's game.
Fortunately, it was not related to his knee injury he suffered last year, and Sturm stated that he is just day-to-day.
With Lindholm being out, the Bruins needed someone to replace him, and recently signed defenseman Jordan Harris was slotted into the lineup.
There is a chance that Harris stays in the lineup whenever Lindholm comes back, and there would be one odd man out.

Harris to steal a roster spot?

Harris has been stellar for the Bruins in the two games he's appeared in, scoring one goal, one assist for two points.
Since being slotted into the lineup, this is how he has ranked among all Bruins defenseman:
Jordan Harris rankings among #NHLBruins defensemen
in his first two games:

- 16:42 TOI/GP (6th)
- 2 points (1st)
- 1 goal (1st)
- 7.19 shots on goal/60 (1st)
- 0.9 goals above expected (1st)
- 10.2 relative xGoals% (1st)

The perfect plug for blue line offense 👀
There is a chance that once Lindholm comes back from injury, Harris remains in the lineup, and instead someone like Henri Jokiharju comes out.
It's still unclear when Lindholm is going to be back into the lineup, but it's clear that Harris has done a good job, and should stay in the lineup.
