Elias Lindholm signed with the Boston Bruins during free agency and scored a nice $7.75 Million AAV deal.

Lindholm's not producing up to expectations with 9 points( 2 G, 7 A) in 19 games and in that time frame hasn't scored a goal in 16 games.

Jim Montgomery thought he could be the guy who feeds David Pastrnak apples, but the duo hasn't been quite as dynamic as they'd thought.

«I think overall I haven't been good enough. I wouldn't put the blame on something else. I've got to be better,» said the centerman.

While he's been in a transition, going from Calgary to Vancouver and now to Boston and dealing with a newborn it's been a bit of chaos for him to deal with.

He's taken accountability for his lack of production and blames himself for it.

«For myself, I've just got to be more involved,» said Lindholm.

«I think for 60 minutes I'm not doing too much out there, just kind of skating up and down the ice. I've got to be more involved and want the puck more.»

While he did set up Brad Marchand for a goal on the November 7th victory against his former Flames squad he's not been.

Instead of building upon it, he's lacked confidence and points in the following four games.

«For all players, when you're feeling good about your game and you have confidence, you're obviously around the puck more and you're in the right spots,» said Lindholm.

«As players, when you don't have the confidence and things are not going your way, you're kind of hiding a little bit and not wanting the puck.

That's kind of what's been happening.

For all of us, everyone's got to step it up a little bit and for myself, it starts with me.»

Lindholm is currently on the same line as Brad Marchand, and Justin Brazeau but the line doesn't have an offensive spark.

He of course is humble enough to take accountability.

Accountability is one thing, but improvement is another.

«If I find my game and be a better player for us, my thing is I (help) my teammates be better, my line is better,» said Lindholm.

«It's hard for them when the guy who's supposed to drive the line is not playing good enough.

As long as I'm not getting better, it's going to be hard for them.»

Like us all, he's at a loss of what's plaguing this Bruins team.

«It's hard to tell. We take one step forward, two steps back,» said Lindholm.

«We felt fine in St. Louis, found a way to get the win there and then obviously you'd think we'd build some momentum there and then you come into Dallas and (it was) not even close enough.

Outplayed for 60 minutes and then we play in front of our own fans (Saturday) and have a good chance to redeem ourselves a little bit.

And then we put the same game out there again. It's frustrating.»

According to MoneyPuck Elias Lindholm-Pavel Zacha-David Pastrnak has had a difficult time controlling the ice, with a 42.2 XG% and 1.9 goals for on the ice.

It seems that his bad luck has followed him onto his other line combinations, as the Bruins are at a standstill in regard to the offense.

Something needs to change, and the first part is accepting your failures, which Lindholm has done.
