Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney made some signing's in the off-season that were questionable, but this one player has had a really good start to the year, and is super underrated.
Don Sweeney made a lot of depth signings this off-season, and fans weren't too happy.
Fans felt like the Bruins needed to target a big name in free agency, or make a big trade for a top-six player.
To start the season so far, it seems like Sweeney made the right choice going after depth players instead of a big named player.
Boston has been lacking depth, and it was a big problem for them last year.
One player Sweeney signed in the off-season has been pretty impressive, and it was definitely an underrated signing.
Michael Eyssimont making a name for himself
Sweeney ended up signing Michael Eyssimont to a two-year, $2.9 million contract during free agency.
Boston needed to boost their bottom-six, and Eyssimont has done exactly that so far for them.
In their recent game against the Vegas Golden Knights, Eyssimont helped the Boston Bruins stay in the game by scoring a goal, and picking up an assist.
His goal was a lot bigger then some may think, as he ended up bringing the Bruins back to a one goal game, making it 6-5.
Unfortunately the Bruins weren't able to complete the comeback, and ended up losing 6-5, but Eyssimont was impressive.
In five games so far with the Bruins, Eyssimont now has one goal, 2 assists, 3 points, two hits and four penalty minutes.
