Bruins prospect to leave the organization for a better opportunity
A Bruins prospect just got an outstanding opportunity, but it will require him to step away from the organization for some time.
Last season during the NHL draft, it seemed like the Bruins ended up going off the board in the fourth round.
Boston ended up drafting Czechia defenseman
Vashek Blanar in the fourth round, but now it's seeming like a solid pick.
At the time, it definitely seemed like a reach for the Bruins at the NHL draft, but now that so-called "reach" is paying off for the Bruins.
This season, while playing with the HV71 in the U20 Nationell in Sweden, he has appeared in 13 games, and last Friday he ended up collecting a goal and 2 assists.
In total,
Blanar has three goals and five assists for eight points with HV71.
Even though his team has been struggling big time this year, Blanar has been a bright spot for them, and he earned himself a pretty crazy opportunity because of it.
Blanar to represent Team Czechia
According to
insidetherink.com, Blanar has earned himself a roster spot on Czechia's upcoming Five Nations Tournament, and it begins on Thursday.
Entering the tournament, Blanar is going to be the youngest defenseman at just 18 years old and will compete against some of the top U20 talent in the world.
"Despite his team's struggles, Blanar has been a bright spot, which has earned him a roster spot with Czechia in the upcoming Five Nations Tournament, which begins Thursday. The Czech defenseman is the youngest defenseman in the tournament and will be able to compete against the top U20 talent in the world. This tournament is a precursor to the U20 World Championship this winter."

Entering this season, Blanar was ranked 29th on the Bruins Benders Prospect Rankings, which only ranked their top 30 prospects.
