The Boston Bruins made a smart move by selecting Lysell with the 21st pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. He showcased his skills during an impressive season with Lulea in the Swedish Hockey League.

Notably, Lysell is the first player from Sweden that Boston has chosen in the first round since 2000.

During his time on the ice, Lysell managed to score two goals and assist in three points, while spending an average of 7 minutes and 22 seconds on the rink in 26 SHL games.

He also performed well in Sweden's junior league, tallying 13 points through three goals and ten assists across 11 games with Frolunda.

Lysell's talent wasn't limited to his local league; he also made a significant impact at the 2021 IIHF World Under-18 Championship.

He was a crucial part of Sweden's team, contributing three goals and six assists for a total of nine points in seven games. Thanks to his efforts, Sweden secured a respectable third-place finish.
