Carolina Hurricanes steal former Boston Bruins goaltender off waivers

After walking from the Boston Bruins organization this past off-season, Brandon Bussi ended up signing with the Florida Panthers, where he was facing a similar situation.
He wasn't making the NHL team out of training camp, and the Florida Panthers ended up placing him on waivers yesterday.
NEWS: The following players have been placed on waivers, on the purpose of assignment (October 4).
To report to the AHL, Bussi had to clear waivers, but his fate was just confirmed by NHL insider Elliotte Friedman.
Carolina claims Bussi on waivers
Since it's past the 2 p.m. ET deadline for waivers, any claims that were made are now official.
Elliotte Friedman revealed that the Carolina Hurricanes have claimed Brandon Bussi off of waivers, stealing him for free from the Florida Panthers.

The Boston Bruins are in a similar situation with goaltender Michael DiPietro, who was just placed on waivers today by the organization.
There is a lot of belief around the league that a team is going to put in a claim for him as well, and the Bruins are going to lose him for free.
According to RG.org, two teams have shown major interest in DiPietro.
Those two teams are the Calgary Flames, and divisional rival, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
We will only know his fate tomorrow whenever the 2 p.m. deadline comes around.
