Team USA is expected to get some devastating news regarding defenseman Charlie McAvoy today.
Yesterday, before their matchup against Team Sweden, Team USA revealed that Charlie McAvoy was going to miss the matchup, and Jake Sanderson was going to take his spot.
They also revealed that Matthew Tkachuk was going to miss the game as well due to a lower-body injury he suffered in their game against Team Canada on Saturday, and Chris Kreider was going to take his spot in the lineup.
Following the game, Team USA revealed that star defenseman Charlie McAvoy was admitted to Mass. General Hospital in the Boston area.

NHL insider Pierre LeBrun revealed that Charlie McAvoy is still getting some test run on him at the hospital and that there will be an update some time this morning from the Boston Bruins organization.
