Elliotte Friedman Reveals This Forwards Time With The Boston Bruins Is At An End
Elliotte Friedman has revealed that Trent Frederic's time with the Boston Bruins may be coming to an end.
Trent Frederic fits the Boston Bruins dynamic perfectly, and since the Boston Bruins drafted him 29th overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Level Draft he has been a big part of what they have accomplished.
Frederic is the type of player that never shies away from a confrontation, is willing to stick up for his teammates, the type of player everyone wants on their team. It's safe to say that Trent Frederic has become a fan favourite in Boston, but unfortunately his time in Boston may be coming to an end.
Monday morning NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that there are a lot of teams that are calling the Boston Bruins with interest in Frederic, and it's putting the Bruins in a difficult position.
Trent Frederic is set to become a unrestricted free agent at the end of the year and if the Bruins believe that they won't be able to agree on a deal with Frederic there is a good chance he gets traded.
"There are definitely some teams out there that feel that the Bruins and Frederic won't be able to get the deal done," revealed Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast. "There's uncertainty about whether or not the Bruins are actually going to be able to get Frederic done."
According to Elliotte Friedman, if the Bruins are not able to sign him, there is no doubt going to be a lot of trade interest in him, especially from teams that are sitting in a playoff spot.
"He's the kind of player that playoff teams are gonna want," added Friedman. "They are really gonna want a guy like that. He's a good teammate, he's competitive."
the St. Louis Blues, who just recently hired Jim Montgomery as head coach seem to have a lot of interest in Trent Frederic.
"He's a St. Louis guy, his family are St. Louis people... and so there's a lot of people wondering if that's what's in his future," added Friedman.
It will be interesting to see where this leads, but there is a good chance that maybe a trade before the deadline happens with the amount of interest there is in Frederic.
"We'll see where it goes," said Friedman. "Whatever the Bruins intentions are here, they are getting a lot of calls."
