Since the firing of Jim Montgomery on Tuesday, Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney has come out and issued a major warning to players and staff.
The warning Don Sweeney issued to the whole Bruins organization is that if things still don't change after the coaching change, more changes will strike the organization.
Many fans believed that the Bruins made the wrong choice by firing Jim Montgomery, and instead it should have been Don Sweeney himself.
Bruins fans aren't alone though, as former NHL enforcer John Scott also agrees with them.
John Scott came out after the firing of Jim Montgomery and stated that NHL teams need to stop hiring former NHL players into high management positions.
This was basically directed directly at General Manager Don Sweeney and the president of the Boston Bruins Cam Neely.
John Scott stated that when these ex-players become executives, they are given way too much breathing room due to their importance to their organizations.
John Scott made this post to social media:
John Scott has a solid point here, and in this case, Don Sweeney has only brought the Bruins to the Stanley Cup Finals once in 2019.
In their only appearence to the Stanley Cup Final under Don Sweeney the Bruins lost to the St. Louis Blues. Sweeney has been the General Manager with the Bruins since 2015.
