A familiar name to Bruins fans is getting a fresh NHL opportunity.

Former Boston prospect Trevor Kuntar has officially signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Buffalo Sabres, marking the latest chapter in a career built on work ethic and steady development.
Kuntar, drafted by the Bruins in the third round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, carved out a strong collegiate career at Boston College before turning pro.
He spent his first seasons in the organization with the Providence Bruins in the AHL, where his north-south style and physical presence quickly became defining traits.
But opportunity often comes from unexpected places, and Kuntar found his next one in Western New York.
After joining the Rochester Americans, Buffalo's AHL affiliate, the 22-year-old forward put together an impressive start to the season that did not go unnoticed. In 24 games, he recorded nine goals and four assists, showcasing both his willingness to grind and his improved finishing touch around the net.

Buffalo's decision to ink Kuntar to a one-year, two-way deal signals that the organization sees potential for him to break through.
His game has always been built on effort, hard forechecks, board battles, pressure kills, and energy shifts, but this season's scoring bump gives him an added dimension.
For the Sabres, a team focused on adding competitive depth and identity pieces, Kuntar checks the right boxes.
He projects as the type of bottom-six forward who can complement skill players by doing the hard work in the trenches and bringing pace to a lineup.
For Kuntar, the signing represents a second chance to climb toward the NHL level after leaving the Bruins pipeline. And with his game trending upward in Rochester, the timing could not be better.
Whether he becomes a long-term fixture in Buffalo remains to be seen, but his path continues to move forward, and his relentless approach ensures he will make the most of this new opportunity.
