Marc Savard is currently the Calgary Flames assistant coach. During his playing career he suited up for the New York Rangers (who drafted him in 1995), Calgary Flames, Atlanta Thrashers and Boston Bruins. He also spent some time behind the bench for the St. Louis Blues in 2019–20.
Recently, Savard was named one of the Boston Bruins' historic 100, a group of one hundred Bruins who either achieved tremendous success with the team or had a significant impact on it's history.
The former Bruin was extremely thankful to even be considered for historic 100, Savard said, «What an honour!!! Top 100 Bruins of all time.» He added, «FYI I Miss everything about Boston and everyone in Boston.»
Although it might not happen right away, it isn't unlikely in the future, and it doesn't necessarily have to be from behind the bench. In addition to on-ice and video work, a former player is always a fantastic fit for player development.
