Boston Bruins general manager Don Sweeney made a major announcement involving goaltender Linus Ullmark and it's bad news.
During the team's exit interviews yesterday Don Sweeney was asked about Linus Ullmark's future with the Boston Bruins.
Linus Ullmark has one-year left on his deal at $5 million, before he is set to become a free agent.
The Bruins have made it clear that Jeremy Swayman is their priority, and it's clear that Swayman stole the starting role from Linus Ullmark, which puts Sweeney in an interesting position.
Sweeney stated that the Bruins would keep the tandem together in a perfect world because it's been good for them, but he is going to explore some opportunities. He also stated that he is going to get calls regarding Ullmark and he is also going to make some calls.
Sweeney on Ullmark: "We were happy to sign Linus and in a perfect world we would keep the tandem because I think it's damn good. But we're going to explore opportunities. My phone is going to ring and I'm going to make calls."
