The Toronto Maple Leafs Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews have returned to form, as Marner sniped the OT-winning goal against the Bruins, and would weirdly leave Auston Matthews hanging during the celly.

In what seems like an episode of Stranger Things, forward Mitch Marner has returned from the Four Nations Face-Off energized, as a member of Canada's 4NFO winning team.
While he's yet to attain a Stanley Cup, he has had to return to the ice with his one-time nemesis, and long-time friend Auston Matthews, who captained Team USA.
After Marner's game-winning-goal celebration, he'd leave Matthews high-and-dry in what looked like odd circumstances for the duo.

Only this time instead of Justin Bieber getting in the way of the bromance, it was Canada itself.
He'd ignore Matthews and skate towards goalie Anthony Stolarz, in a scene that defies all irony.
Could there be a rift in the Maple Leafs locker room post-Four Nations Face-Off? The Bruins and GM Don Sweeney should interject and get into Marner's ear seeing as the Canada connection is still fresh after 4NFO.
Brad Marchand spoke highly about Mitch Marner the other day, this altercation with Matthews could play a part in him deciding to leave in the off-season.
If he does leave in the off-season, because of the connection Marchand and Marner have, he could be willing to sign with the Bruins which would drastically help them in their re-tool.
Marchand on Marner: "He's always been one of my favourite players as a fan of the game. Loved being his teammate"
Just imagine how amazing the LW1 position would be with Marner on the right flank of the Bruins' top-line center.
Given the increasing reports of how the Maple Leafs could let Marner walk into free agency instead of re-signing him to an expensive deal.
He could be an expensive rental for any team during the trade deadline, but if there's a rift in the locker room, it might hasten a move.
«Players like Marner are difficult to come by, and if you don't do well in the playoffs, you gotta keep working at it. I know Leafs fans don't like to hear that, but I would try to sign him,» McKenzie said on The Quiz on TSN. «I don't think it will happen, I think he's much more likely to go to free agency, and I think the Leafs understand that. But, do I think they will try? Absolutely.»

Marner makes $10.9 million AAV with the Maple Leafs now and will be a UFA in July, and the team would have to consider eating some kind of his salary to make a move happen.
