Rumor: Boston Bruins to kick 21-year-old fan favourite to the curb following free agency signings

There is a good chance that Matthew Poitras gets traded from the Boston Bruins, considering how packed their bottom-six is now with the signings Don Sweeney made during free agency.

If the Boston Bruins want to be a competitive team next year, using Poitras as a trade chip would not be a terrible idea.

Evan Marinofsky, and Court Lalonde recently revealed that Matthew Poitras could very well be on his way out on a recent episode of their podcast.

On their podcast, Marinofsky suggested that the Boston Bruins may be prepared to part ways with Poitras.

Both of them agreed that trading Poitras would be a good move for the Bruins to acquire some more talent on their roster, especially given how packed the Bruins bottom-six is now.

Don Sweeney has made it known that he is looking to make some trades to improve the Boston Bruins roster heading into the next season.

Given the upside that Poitras has, he may be one of the Bruins most valuable trade chips heading into the 2025-26 season.

It's unclear if a trade is going to be made involving Poitras, but it seems likely given the signings Don Sweeney made.
