Today, there's news about Chris Wagner, a player for the Colorado Avalanche. He's been put on waivers, which means other teams can claim him. This happened just three days after he was brought up from the AHL, the minor league.

Despite playing 13 games with the Avalanche this season, Wagner won't be playing in the next two games. He's on waivers, but still part of the team for now.

Last year, Wagner signed a contract with Colorado that lets him play in both the NHL and AHL. He's been a good backup for the Avalanche, scoring goals when needed. In the AHL this season, he scored eight goals and six assists in 21 games. In the NHL, he got one goal and one assist, but didn't play much.

Wagner used to play for the Boston Bruins, but he hasn't been a regular NHL player since the pandemic-shortened season in 2020-21. He didn't do so well in Boston, even though they gave him a big contract. The last two years of that deal, he played in the AHL.

Throughout his NHL career, Wagner has scored 38 goals and made 27 assists in 373 games. His best season was in 2018-19 when he played for the Bruins and scored 12 goals.
