The other day the Boston Bruins announced a new hire to their coaching staff.

Former Boston Bruins player and coach for the Providence Bruins Jay Leach has been hired behind the Bruins bench as announced by the organization the other day.

Jay Leach was an assistant coach for the Seattle Kraken for three years from 2021-2023, and will now be the assistant coach for the Boston Bruins in their upcoming season.

Leach was previosuly the head coach for the Providence Bruins for 5 years from the 2016 season up until the 2021-22 season where he would take a job as an assistant coach with the Seattle Kraken.

Leach spent several years with Providence helping develop the Bruins prospects and with a recent announcement from Don Sweeney he will now be joining the Boston Bruins.

«The Boston Bruins are excited to welcome Jay Leach back to the organization,» said Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney. «Jay was a very successful coach with the Providence Bruins where he greatly impacted our player development system, and he also brings valuable experience as an assistant coach from the Seattle Kraken. We believe Jay will integrate quickly and complement our current staff as he comes back to the Bruins to work with our defense corps.»

Leach started his playing career with the Boston Bruins in 2005 and would go on to play for multiple teams during his career, before calling it in 2011.
