After leaving the Bruins' game against the Winnipeg Jets with a lower-body injury, Arvidsson was back on the ice, marking his first on-ice activity since the setback.

That alone is encouraging for a Bruins team that has been navigating injuries almost nightly. However, the update came with an important detail that tempers expectations.
Arvidsson did not skate with the full team during practice. Instead, he skated before the Bruins took the ice, indicating he is still working through the recovery process.
Head coach Marco Sturm later confirmed that there are no imminent returns and that no lineup changes are expected in the short term. That includes Arvidsson, who remains out of the lineup despite the positive step.

Viktor Arvidsson making progress to return back to the lineup

Seeing Arvidsson back on skates confirms the injury is trending in the right direction, but skating solo suggests he still needs time before rejoining game action.
Arvidsson's absence has been noticeable. The veteran winger brings speed, forechecking pressure, and secondary scoring that fits well within Marco Sturm's system.
In 25 games this season, Arvidsson has provided consistent middle six production and reliable two-way play, making him a valuable piece when healthy.
The Bruins have been careful with injuries all season, and this approach fits that pattern.
Lower body injuries can linger or worsen if rushed, and Boston has made it clear they will not gamble with player health.
Sturm reiterated that there are no lineup changes planned and that Jeremy Swayman will start in net, reinforcing the theme of continuity and patience.
The next meaningful step will be Arvidsson skating with the full team. That usually signals a return is getting close.
Until then, he remains in a day to day window without a firm timeline.
For now, the Bruins will continue to manage without him, trusting that a cautious approach pays off later.
