Yesterday, the Boston Bruins ended up signing veteran forward, and Providence Bruins captain Patrick Brown, and the reason on why he was resigned was just revealed.

Boston Bruins fans have had mixed feelings on Patrick Brown, and they feel like he takes away spots on the roster from younger players.
After the Boston Bruins announced the signing of Patrick Brown last night, fans had mixed feelings on it.

Brown ended up going undrafted, but in 2014 he signed his first NHL contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. He has been with the Boston Bruins organization for the past two years, and is now coming back for another season after signing a contract extension.
For the majority of his career he has played in the American Hockey League, only appearing in 164 NHL games since signing his first NHL contract in 2014. In those 164 games, Brown has 10 career goals, 16 assists for 26 points.

After being signed, Boston Bruins reporter Mike Sullivan revealed why the Boston Bruins signed him despite not being the biggest liked among the fan base.
The real reason the Boston Bruins ended up signing Brown was due to having a leader down in Providence to pave the way for the young players. Brown was also given the captaincy of the Providence Bruins last season.
I know Patrick Brown is low hanging fruit for people to pick on but having a veteran down in Providence to lead the way and show the young guns how to be a professional is priceless
