The Boston Bruins shocked the hockey world on Tuesday by firing head coach Jim Montgomery.
After having a bunch of success with the Boston Bruins, one bad start to the year and the Boston Bruins believed it was the right move to move on from another coach.
Although it didn't surprise many Bruins fans, as Sweeney has been very open about wanting to make a change within the organization.
This was either going to be a blockbuster trade, or Jim Montgomery was going to get fired, and Montgomery indeed did get fired.
Craig Berube was asked about his thoughts on the firing of former Bruins head coach and he said it was "upsetting."
Toronto Maple Leafs head coach also went on to say this about the firing:
Jim Montgomery and Craig Berube use to be coach's together for two seasons, when they were both apart of the Blues coaching staff.
Now moving forward, the Boston Bruins will replace Jim Montgomery with an interim head coach.
The Boston Bruins are replacing Jim Montgomery with associate coach Joe Sacco. Sacco has been with the Bruins organization since 2014.
Since 2014, Sacco has been an assistant coach with the Boston Bruins organization and was also the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche from 2009-13.
There is a chance that Jim Montgomery could possibly return and coach under Craig Berube's staff once again this time with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
