This morning it was revealed that the Boston Bruins had completed a two player roster transaction, and now we know why.
At the beginning of practice, Bruins reporters revealed that Michael Callahan was recalled from the Providence Bruins.

It was unclear why at first, and many thought Mason Lohrei may be getting removed from the lineup, and that's why he was recalled.
Instead, the Bruins actually got some terrible news on why he was recalled.
Bruins place defenseman on IR, recalled Callahan
The reason that Michael Callahan was recalled from the American Hockey League was due to defenseman Jordan Harris being placed on Injury Reserved.

According to Scott McLaughlin, Harris was seen walking with a limp following their 4-3 loss to the Florida Panthers.

The injury problems are starting to pile up once again for the Bruins defense, as both Harris and Lindholm are out right now with injuries.
Callahan has been solid for the Bruins, especially during his time with them last year.
The 26-year-old defenseman ended up appearing in 17 games last season, where he scored 1 goal and was a minus-5 on a terrible Bruins team.
With both Harris, and Lindholm injured right now, he is going to have a big role in the lineup.
