Taylor Hall's name has been buzzing in the rumor mill, as NHL Insider's Chris Johnston and Pierre LeBrun have pitched trades that could send the former first-round pick to the Utah HC, or Colorado Avalanche.
But, if the Bruins are serious about improving the lineup, shouldn't GM Don Sweeney invest in Hall? He knows what he'd get out of Hall, who spent close to 3 seasons with the Bruins.
Hall played 158 games with the Bruins and scored 111 points( 44 G, 67 A) during his short stint with the team.
He could prove beneficial to the Bruins top-nine which looks rather thin lately, and could use the secondary scoring.
While LeBrun's suggestion of Utah makes sense.
It'd make more sense for him to return to the Bruins where he's familiar with the organization and knows key players like David Pastrnak, and Brad Marchand.
The Bruins will have to figure out a way of bringing Hall back to Beantown on an affordable deal, as he is making $6 Million AAV.
He could ask GM Kyle Davidson for a discount on the future rental, as his contract expires at the end of the season.
Of course, the return for the Blackhawks might be a bit more costly, but when you want to make a playoff run the Bruins should measure cost and value and find the happy medium.
In 35 games with the Blackhawks this season he's scored 19 points( 7 G, 12 A) and like many players has found new life with Interim Coach Anders Sorensen.
The Bruins should have been discussing Taylor Hall with the Chicago Blackhawks yesterday.
