A unfortunate development has surfaced, and was reported by a Boston Bruins insider that confirms it for Martin Necas and the Boston Bruins.

Ever since the off-season began, there have been many rumours going around about how the Carolina Hurricanes are looking to trade Martin Necas cause they are looking to prioritize other players.

Elliotte Friedman even reported that the Hurricanes were in talks with the Bruins during the trade deadline for Linus Ullmark, but wasn't sure if Martin Necas was apart of the deal or not.

A Bruins report, reported some unfortunate news regarding the Bruins acquiring Necas, stating he doesn't think the Bruins have the assets to land the skilled young forward.

I don't believe the Bruins have the trade assets to land a player like Necas out of Carolina.

Elliotte Friedman reported the Hurricanes are looking to get a budding star in return for Necas.

Friedman on 32TP: "Carolina is letting people know that they consider Necas a budding star and that's the kind of return they want...Star power is what they want in return, I heard"

Marek: "Okay, so we're not dealing with picks and prospects here"

That doesn't mean the Bruins are completely out, the Hurricanes are looking for goaltending and the Bruins have Ullmark who has been linked to multiple teams, if the Bruins need to throw in some picks or lower prospects this should be a no doubter for Sweeney.
