The Boston Bruins began their rookie camp today, and are preparing for the Prospect Challenge, and revealed their roster for the upcoming Challenge.
Immediately fans noticed that there were multiple prospects missing from the roster that was revealed. Fabian Lysell and Georgii Merkulov were two of the players missing, and we now know why.
Ryan Mougenel, the head coach for the Providence Bruins brought clarity to the situation today during a press conference and stated that the Boston Bruins want to have Lysell, and Merkulov fresh and ready to make a push for a roster spot come Sept. 18th when training camp opens.
The Boston Bruins have some spots to fill in their roster, and instead of making a move in free agency or trading to fill those wholes, they stated that they are going to fill the spots with players inside the organization, and both Merkulov and Lysell have a good chance to make the roster outside of camp.
