After facing a loss of someone close to him, Brad Marchand paid an emotional tribute in his first game back with the Florida Panthers.
This past week was a tough one for former Bruins captain Brad Marchand, but Saturday night he joined back with the Florida Panthers in their game against the Dallas Stars and couldn't be stopped.
Earlier in the week, Marchand took an unexpected leave of absence after facing a heartbreaking tragedy back in his home province of Nova Scotia.
Former trainer of Brad Marchand and long-time friend JP MacCallum ended up suffering a tragic loss.
His 10-year-old daughter, Selah MacCallum, ended up tragically passing away after losing her battle to cancer.
Losing anyone is a tragedy, but when it's a 10-year-old, it makes things seem worse, and no parent should ever have to experience this.
Marchand ended up flying home to be with his friend during this tragedy and even participated in a special charity event to honor her.
After all of this got out on social media, Marchand ended up receiving some praise from people all around the league.

During his first game back, Marchand did not waste any time finding the back of the net, something he's been doing a lot this season.
Instantly he thought of Selah as he pointed his finger to the sky in an emotional tribute to her.
